Christos and Giota Rangas have had their own stegno shop in Pagrati for a month now. Although the 2 come from different professional backgrounds, they decided to invest in the stegno proposal in order to have a better income, to ensure a better future for their children and also for them to have a ready-made business. Speaking to FRANCHISE SUCCESS, they are both very excited and satisfied with their decision.
What reasons led you to choose to work with a franchise network?
We were interested in the laundry business because we wanted to open a family business in which we ourselves would be employed. By investing in a franchise network, we knew that we would have someone there to guide us, to advise us, to train us. By opening a franchise store, you “get” a ready-made, tried and tested store that is already recognizable and can more easily bear fruit than something that starts now.
Why did you choose stegno?
First of all because the stegno network is the largest network of dry cleaners in Greece with years of experience and knowledge in the field. Knowledge that they channel to the new partner through training. We also noticed that the company and all the stores are set up with the right foundations. And certainly stegno offers the consumer innovative, quality services that make a difference.
Before you come to your final decision do you do some research? Have you contacted a consulting firm?
We contacted THE FRANCHISE CO., which helped us make our final decision. We were between, 2-3 categories but the consultants of the company based on our needs and wants, guided us to make the right choice. The company gave us all the information, about the stegno proposal, on a theoretical level but then we saw practical things happening in front of us. We visited stores of the chain, we talked to people who also took the step to open their own business, we solved all our questions and we saw that everyone is happy with their decision.
What was the process from the moment you made the decision and how long did it take to get your store ready?
Initially we proposed the area of Kaisariani for the opening of the new store. We were looking for space and we couldn’t find any. The company then informed us about the process of transforming an existing dry cleaner in Pagrati. This saved us time and also gained us customers. Our store within 20 days was ready for operation. We both started training to learn how a stegno store works so that we too could offer the stegno experience in a proper way. Also, the company sent us, 2 experienced people to help and support us until we were completely comfortable too.
What are the needs of the public today and what kind of feedback do you receive?
The public needs to feel safe at this time. They want to know that their clothes, their quilts are being properly cleaned. More than a few people bring us brand new clothes and sheets to be washed before they are used. In the area not everyone knows the brand but they show interest in getting to know us and discovering our services. We are already receiving very good feedback and everyone is talking about the wonderful scent of our detergent.
Did you know that the stegno network was named a Gold Winner at The Franchise Success awards 2021 in the Franchise Responsibility category? What does this mean for you?
The company invests in building strong relationships with partners and we see this in practice. The stegno network is one big family. For us it is very important to know that we can rely on the company and that there is a pleasant and friendly atmosphere. We also see that the same company is interested in us and in the development of the store. And of course it also gives consideration to our opinion by asking our opinion on the next steps.
Your desire to open your own shop has become a reality. How do you feel about it?
It’s very early days and we are a bit nervous however we feel very excited to have our own store.
